Gert Meesters is maître de conférences in Dutch at the University of Lille 3, Charles-de-Gaulle in France. He is a founding member of the comics research group ACME for which he co-edited L’Association : Une utopie éditoriale et esthétique (2011) and La bande dessinée en dissidence/Comics in Dissent. His most recent research focuses on the development of the narrative system of the medium in Belgian and French comics and on the evolution of language use in long running comics in Dutch.
