Benoît Crucifix est professeur assistant en études culturelles à la KU Leuven et chercheur à la KBR, où il dirige le POPHeritage Lab sous un mandat FED-tWIN. Il s’intéresse à la culture populaire imprimé et se mémoire culturelle, ses archives, sa patrimonialisation et sa transmission. Il a mené une thèse de doctorat à l’Université de Liège et l’UCLouvain sous un mandat du FNRS et a été chercheur postdoctorant à l’Université de Gand, au sein du projet de recherche COMICS dirigé par Maaheen Ahmed. Il est l’auteur de Drawing from the Archives: Comics Memory in the Contemporary Graphic Novel (Cambridge University Press, 2023), et a co-dirigé, avec Maaheen Ahmed, Comics Memory: Archives and Styles (Palgrave, 2018) et au sein du groupe ACME, Bande dessinée et Abstraction (PULg/5c, 2019). Il est co-rédacteur en chef de la revue Comicalités.

Benoît Crucifix is assistant professor of Cultural Studies at KU Leuven and lead researcher of the POPHeritage Lab at the Royal Library of Belgium (KBR), under the impulse of a FED-tWIN funding. He is interested in the cultural memory, heritage, archives, and transmission of popular print culture across different contexts. He carried out his doctoral research at the University of Liège and UCLouvain under a FNRS fellowship and was a postdoctoral researcher on Maaheen Ahmed’s ERC-funded COMICS research program at Ghent University. He is the author of Drawing from the Archives: Comics Memory in the Contemporary Graphic Novel (2023). Together with Maaheen Ahmed, he has co-edited a forthcoming special issue of Comicalités on the interactions between comics and children’s drawings. He is co-editor in chief of the journal Comicalités.
